That must be very useful for all the time the Mustang drivers slip the
clutch at 6000 rpm. Drag racing is all about having the car weigh less. It
has very little to do with ladder bars.

they tried irs on mustang, ford says solid rear end sturdier for bombing
off the the line at 6000 rpm.

Makes me sad for America. In the big picture of things I think I will get
over it.
The Ford Mustang still has a solid Conestoga wagon rear axle. But they
still sell a lot of Mustangs irregardless of that.

Other than the Olympic hockey game on that particular weekend

Sometimes I look at the car manufacturer sites to see what features the new
cars have and stuff like that. I was looking at the Dodge pages and I
noted that the Caravan still comes with an overhead valve pushrod engine.

It's not a comparison of the two sports
as much as it is observing that while a NASCAR race may
not sell out, it is still an extrememly popular event, and that
thousands go, even though they 'could' watch it for free on television.
Most of these tracks built a lot of new stands year after year
in the last 20 years to accomodate the booming interest in NASCAR.
